This impressive album of shipping photographs taken in the Port of Hamburg and on the River Elbe has German and English captions and for the limited text material. The full English title is"Hamburg - The Ships, the Port and the Elbe"with"Ship Spotting"a subsidiary title. Thomas Kunadt provided all the illustrations and the text and captions. His photographs, all in colour, depict ships of every type and size, from cruise liners and mega- bulk ships and tankers, heavy lift and specialised ships to tugs, coasters and yachts, many others capture the moods, movement, working and sights of the port and river. Many of the photos are double spread, giving an image surface measurement of 54cm by 24.5cm. Most avid ship photographers will be envious of his studies while the novice can learn much from them. Safe to say --- a magnificent book. 189 pages including an index of specifications etc of ships pictured, map of recommended"spotting"points, photos/list of the biggest ships to have called at Hamburg plus tips for ship photographers, colour photo e/papers and colour photos throughout. Blue hard covers with white spine titles NF, ditto the text block, no inscriptions, Colour pictorial DJ is VG+. Heavy book at more that 1.2kgs unpacked. Would require additional postage for overseas despatch.
